Cover the doors people actually use
Main gate, material gate, packing dispatch and the cash or stores counter. Aisle cameras without a face or number plate at the exit rarely settle a dispute.
Record long enough to matter
Ask how many days you keep at the resolution you will actually play back. If the disk is set to overwrite in four days, a complaint that surfaces the next week has nothing to play.
Night and dust
IR washout on white walls, cameras pointed at sky-lights, and lenses filmed with cement dust are the usual reasons “the camera was on” but the clip is useless. We check one night clip before we leave.
Who can view it tomorrow
One admin login, a written password location, and remote view only if the owner asked for it. Shared WhatsApp logins get lost the week the supervisor changes.
